A warehouse on the bypass would have given us cheaper rent and drier air. The players we care about do not live on the bypass. They live with Brazos evenings and parking lots that steam after a 3 p.m. rain.
Tovah and Harlan tried to run plates in a borrowed garage in 2013. The garage was honest about space and dishonest about weather. Every session printed like February. Then the same people went to play in June and the trail foot glued itself to clay. The garage fitting was a costume.
Suite 5 on Texas Avenue sits close enough to the street that you can smell wet asphalt. That is a feature. If the bay is muggy, we stamp a muggy window. We do not run a dehumidifier to flatter a number.
College Station already had places that sell distance. We opened a place that sells time under the shoes. The maroon on the door is not a mascot license. It is the cheapest paint that looked like the clay.
